Elizabeth Moon first came to prominence in 1988 with the publication of the first volume in The Deed of Paksenarrion trilogy, Sheepfarmer’s Daughter. As a former officer in the U.S. Marines, Moon brought her knowledge to bear in her depictions of large-scale medieval battles.

Not content with just fantasy, Moon has also written many science fiction novels infused with her no-nonsense action style including the much loved Vatta’s War series.
